BEATRIX MILLER

Beatrix Miller was the editor of British Vogue for 22 years and sadly passed away earlier this year. I was reading a tribute to her in the May edition of Vogue and I couldn't help thinking how much she looked like Meryl Streep, which thrilled me as I love her character and brilliant performance in The Devil Wears Prada.

More amusingly, her personality also sounded just like the character in the film when Sandy Boler was describing her experience under Beatrix's reign. "Never two words when one would do. 'Speak!' she would bark when you went into her office" and "if she disapproved, the raised eyebrow said it all", Miranda Priestly's pursed lips spring to mind. What a hero.
